I’m Filipe Fonseca. I lead software teams, and I build music technology of my own.
I lead a software team at SuperSim, a São Paulo fintech that offers personal loans. I joined in 2020 as a business analyst, moved into engineering a few months later, and grew from junior engineer to tech lead there. My main tools are Java and Spring Boot on the backend and Flutter on mobile.
Music came first. I studied conducting at the School of Communications and Arts of the University of São Paulo (ECA-USP), where I also earned a master’s degree with a critical edition of Henrique Oswald’s opera Le Fate. I taught and conducted at Projeto Guri, worked at the Comunicantus choral laboratory, served as archivist and then assistant conductor of the USP Chamber Orchestra (OCAM), and conducted the FEA-USP choir. Along the way I also graduated in Business Administration at FEA-USP.
The two careers meet in the products I build on my own. Virtual Choir Creator, the app I wrote in 2020 so choirs could keep singing during the pandemic, passed 50,000 downloads on Google Play. Grammar of Music teaches music theory with interactive tools and a tutor, in English and Portuguese. Sheet Music Stores compares sheet music editions across stores. I design, build and run all of them end to end, from the Flutter and Next.js clients to the Spring Boot services and the Kubernetes infrastructure behind them.
